A choir service of readings & chanted Psalms, during which the lights in the church

are gradually dimmed until a single candle remains, symbolizing

the power of the light of Christ over darkness.

 

Maundy Thursday
April 18

7:30 pm - Holy Eucharist with Foot Washing & Solemn Stripping of the Altar

 

8:45 pm - Midnight - Watch before the Blessed Sacrament

in the Chapel of Christ the King

 

Good Friday
April 19

12 noon - the Good Friday Liturgy

includes the sung Passion, veneration of the cross, & communion from reserved sacrament

 

 12 noon - Good Friday Children's Observance

a 90-minute program designed especially for children - in the Great Hall

 

 4:00 pm - Stations of the Cross

a quiet journey around the inside of the church with readings & prayers

at each of the fourteen traditional stations of the cross

 

 7:30 pm - Concert of Sacred Music for Good Friday

including works by Dupre, Schutz, and composer-in-residence Joshua Bornfield

 

Holy Saturday
April 20

9:00 am - Holy Saturday prayers

 

7:30 pm - The Great Vigil of Easter

includes the lighting of the Paschal Candle from the New Fire, singing of the Exsultet,

telling of the Salvation Story in word & song, Renewal of Baptismal Vows,

and celebration of the first Eucharist of Easter

 

Easter Day
April 21

9:00 am - Festival Holy Eucharist (with music)

10:30 am - Annual Children's Easter Egg Hunt (playground)

11:00 am - Festival Holy Eucharist (sung)
