Hailed by the Baltimore Sun as "remarkable" and "offering admirable variety and depth of repertoire," the St. David's Music Series offers a wide range of free  events in the beautiful acoustic of the sanctuary. The music series includes First Friday Concerts, Choral Evensongs and other musical liturgies, as well as a variety of special events including the Baltimore Bach Marathon, now celebrating its 42nd year!


The Handel Choir of Baltimore and the Choir of St. David's join forces to perform the World Premiere of Douglas Buchanan's Benedicite, omnia opera at the March 2017 First Friday Concert.


In the 2017-2018 season we are delighted to welcome a number of outstanding musicians, including: Jonathan Carney, Concertmaster of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra; acclaimed lutenist Ronn McFarlane; 2016 Barbershop Harmony Society International Youth Quartet Champion Pratt Street Power; the icarus Quartet, 2017-2018 Ensemble-in-Residence; and Faye Chiao, our 2017-2018 Composer-in-Residence. We are also pleased to continue the annual traditions of the Evensong for the Feast of Hildegard von Bingen, occuring as the first event of the program season and featuring music of women composers, and the Evensong for the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., occuring as the first event of the calendar year and featuring music of social justice and protest.

The Choir of St. David's, under the direction of Dr. Douglas Buchanan, perform's the North American premiere of Sally Beamish's St. Catharine's Service at the opening event of the 2017-2018 season, the annual Evensong for the Feast of Hildegard von Bingen.
